Momiji Japanese Restaurant

I was sitting there on Monday night on a business trip and needed my sushi fix. it was a Monday night and I was just one in the restaurant. saw in the sushi bar and had a wonderful conversation with the two guys. everything was perfect...big quality and taste. the sashimi thick was very generous. I will definitely go back there for

Although we live just a 2 minute drive away and love sushi we have never eaten here until last night. Surprisingly delicious! We found the food very authentic. We particularly enjoy rolls and found that they were not loaded with mayo or sauces drizzled on...top.. We did find the rolls slightly more expensive 2-3/roll) but they were also larger than we are accustomed to with each roll having about 9-10 pieces. As we are lovers of sushi pizza we had to try and again were not disappointed. It was prepared differently than what we are used to but was loaded with flavour and we will definitely have it again. We were not rushed and the servers were as attentive as they needed to be. A great little Clarkson gem that we're really glad to have discovered.

We live 5 minutes away but that doesn't explain why we eat at Momiji at least once a week, sometimes twice. Because it's among our favorite food in a city packed with excellent restaurants. The atmosphere is OK, clean, modern, comfortable. There seems to be...a high turnover of waitresses for whatever reason. Parking is a non-issue as its on a small plaza. But the sushi and other Japanese delicacies ... out of this world. We usually have a miso soup which is always very good. Always a large can of Sapporo to share. The spider dragon maki (soft shell crab with avocado and smoked eel on top) is the most amazing I have ever had. I probably eat one a week there, it's incomparably delicious. Sushi pizza spicy salmon we had once was delicious. Several other of their amazing maki/rolls ... Tempura excellent, several bento boxes ... never made a bad choice. GO! You won't be sorry.

I met a friend for lunch. Ambience was nice. Service very good. Reasonable pricing Sashimi is good. I got the appetizer which was filling. Many take our orders where happening so that’s a good sign. Washrooms were clean A good local spot

Well I am of two minds leaving this review. The food was 5 star and the service was 1 star so I will hover somewhere in the middle!!! I had been to the Bloor St Etobicoke location several times and it really remains one of...my fave spots. I was also very excited to see the Clarkson location so close to our location while my brother was in town at a convention at the Lake Shore Convention centre. Well....we walked in and were eating a late lunch/early dinner due to my early schedule the next day. We were the only ones in the place and as such, one would expect that we would have been taken care of fairly well. The server very kindly told us that it was her first day and seemed almost afraid to take our order without help from a regular. WELL.....if she's being trained by the other 3 that did nothing but stand around and either chat or bury their noses into their smartphone, Momiji is going to have big service issues. The sushi/sashimi was fabulous as it usually is....the miso soup was barely warm though and that was a bit of a disappointment. We had to call out to place an order for drinks.....we had to call out again to order food.....we had to call out for napkins.....we had to call out for extra wasabi....we had to call out for a second sake.....essentially, we had to continuously wave our arms or call out for EVERYTHING. Very very disappointing for Momiji.... oh shoot! Forgot to mention the boys walking all the garbage containers including the garbage can out through the front door of the restaurant right by our table!!!! THEN the server who was't around to actually serve came to the table and had to tell us that they were closing out the lunch and that we needed to pay so that they could leave. WOW......REALLY?!?!?!? Won't be back to this location.....too many choices in the GTA for great restos and awesome service. Heading back to Bloor St location!!!
