The owner yelled at me and told me that I cant just walk in and order 6 chickens. That he is extremely busy and next time I better call in before just showing up...well let me tell you buddy...there wont be a next time! We were the only 2 in his place. We felt like walking out but heard good things about his chicken so we smiled and apologized. Was the chicken worth it? Nope! Too much garlic. We have had better. The potatoes were good though.
All i can say is if you love Portuguese chicken then Brasas needs to be the next place you go to eat, the food is amazing! The staff can be a bit cranky at times but the food makes up for it! The chicken sauce is incredible! They also have a variety of other traditional portuguese dishes available and lots of seafood! I used to live close by and now im downtown Toronto but i still drive back just for the chicken!
I don't like to cook Friday night, kind of a day off for me. This usually means Swiss Chalet, two quarter chicken dinners for my wife and I. This past Friday I decided to try something a little different, Brasas. We got a whole chicken and three sides, we selected rice potatoes and salad. The potatoes were those little round ones that had been roasted, there must have been at least 20 or more. Nicely spiced rice, a great garden salad and two sauces for the chicken, one mild and one spicy. We ended up having three meals out of this for the two of us. The bill was under 30 dollars, so about 5 dollars a plate. Great taste, fast, economical and a great change from our usual go to. I give this place two thumbs up. Check out the menu online, they have lots to offer.
I usually support local restaurants and ethnic fast food restaurants like this one. I have yet to encounter such rude and obnoxious staff like at this place; the lady who took our order was arrogant and unhelpful. The cashier on the other side was snobbish and has some distasteful attitude. The food, dry tasteless chicken... the worst I have ever tasted. Don't bother with this place there are other similar BBQ chicken grills that are much better, the closest is on Bristol and Creditview.
Personally this is one of my favorite chicken rottiseries in the area. Fairly priced, good quality and the portions are good. Chicken tastes is great. I totally recommend it to give it a try. They are always busy (that is a good thing) so be patient. You Can't go wrong with a chicken with some salsa, round potatoes, rice and a salad.Thumbs up for me!
