Victor's 1959 Cafe - Minneapolis

I really wish I had a brand that allowed me to add my own graffiti to the walls!

The yuca and soft plantains were authentic Cuban dishes, but the empanadas lacked flavor and I didn’t care for the sauce that accompanied them. I would return to try other items on the menu.

We're working our way through the alphabet in our restaurant reviews, and V is for Victor's 1959. What a find! The service was excellent, and the food surpassed our expectations. We can't wait to return!

Authentic Cuban cuisine offered in enough variety to keep you coming back again, and again, and again, etc. Friendliest staff I have ever encountered in a restaurant. And it's in Minneapolis. Incredible!

I was really excited to go but my mango salmon was inedibly bad. It tasted like the salmon had turned and then was microwaved to rubber. I ordered it because it was recommended by the waitress. I didn’t eat it and when they asked why I told them and they seemed irritated at me about it. They did comp rice and beans but charged us for the salmon which was pretty expensive. My husband had the cubano and said it was okay but nothing special. Plantains were really good though and we love the atmosphere. Just disappointed it wasn’t a better experience.
