The service was top-notch and the food was exceptional. The prices, especially considering the quality of the experience, were quite reasonable (averaging around $120 per person for a full meal with drinks).
My friends and I decided to dine at Mercy because of its convenient location across the street from the Orpheum Theatre. We were impressed with the seasonal menu and all decided to try the fresh fish dishes, including shrimp and grits, bass, and salmon. The fish dishes were all cooked perfectly and were accompanied by great side dishes. The desserts were also outstanding, especially the chocolate creme brûlée with layers of caramel, chocolate, and fresh whipped cream. The wine list was very reasonably priced as well. The only downside was the Caesar salad, which we found to be bland.
We had the pleasure of trying Gustavo's last supper menu paired with wines and drinks. The amuse-bouche of Duck Taco was amazing - fresh and delicate. The Scallop Aguachile was fantastic, and I loved the sauce. The Beet Salad was simple but delicious, and the Requeson was a great addition. The Sea Bass Pozole was the best in town - fresh, delicate, and exciting. The Pork Belly was a surprise and became my new favorite dish, with a special cedar smokiness that was phenomenal. The Black Forest dessert was a nice way to end the meal, with dark chocolate being my favorite. The entire night was a celebration of Chef Gustavo's talent and passion. We hope to visit again. Our experience was fun, exciting, and very successful. Marin is a special place to dine in Minneapolis. Though I understand that Chef Gustavo is no longer there, I hope the same vibe remains.
This place has some great breakfast (haven’t tried the lunch or dinner) We have been coming here for breakfast every morning because we are staying in the Le Meridian Hotel. I have tried multiple of their breakfast options, but found that I love the steel-cut oats that come with glazed bananas and peanut butter.
I'm usually not someone who raves over chic restaurants, but that's the real deal. We had a client. Your private dining room below was a stylish and intimate environment. Service was professional. Food was excellent. The prices, in particular for the value received, were reasonable (expected to about $120/person with starter, main course, drinks and dessert).
