While I have high expectations for tortas, having grown up near Little Village in Chicago and enjoying traditional tortas, I found that the ones here were tasty but catered more to Midwestern tastes, such as the 3 Little Pigs sandwich. The bread was good, a crucial aspect for a torta, although the portion size was on the smaller side for sharing or for those with a big appetite. The prices were reasonable, and overall I would recommend this place and would definitely return.
STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING RIGHT NOW AND GO GET MANNY'S MOLLETES. I don't care if you're stuck in rush hour traffic or have important plans, make sure to try the molletes. Your partner will thank you as they devour these delicious treats. The molletes are absolutely fantastic, exceeding all expectations. The tamarindo drink is also a must-try, perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. Manny's Tortas has a variety of tasty options to choose from, so you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
I’ve lived in the cities for over 5 years now and this was my first time going to Manny’s Tortas after everything i’d heard. It definitely did not disappoint quite honestly one of the best sandwiches I’ve had. I had the manny’s special; the meat was juicy, the cheese melted, and it was overall perfectly sauced. I know a lot of people have said it’s overpriced, but I disagree. I think the ingredients are quality and it filled me up, I don’t mind spending 15$ for a good sandwich. My friends got the 3 little pigs and the pastor and both agreed they would have it again. Overall a great meal and I’ll be back!
This place has the perfect balance between tradition, flavor and memories. The tortas here are by far my favorite in the twin citizens, and you can taste the traditional recipes from Mexico City that have been meticulously kept.
Stopped in here for dinner on a recent Friday evening, and had several sandwiches here (Manny special, Cubano, and a Veggie). Everything we had was very good tasty. Our only disappointment was that on a Friday night, they were closing up when we got there at 7:30pm. Thankfully, they did take our order and made our sandwiches for us, but we were probably their last customers for the evening. Glad we made it in time to get sandwiches.
