Thank goodness Nineteen14 was open. Service was fantastic, energetic, prompt and friendly. They were busy (on the bike trail) but we did not mind the wait (for food) at all. Everything is homemade, from scratch, and sourced locally, mostly purchased from local Fareway stores. All the local craft beers and full menu is fantastic as well! Nothing is dumped from a box or put in a fryer. Bridgette and Danny are wonderful and Iowa Nice . You 've got to check this place out.
I have to say I was very excited when this popped up on Yelp...Little place, just off a bike trail in the middle of a small town...score! now, that said...the quiet little place in the middle of nowhere...the hidden gem. All these things are great, good service, pretty decent menu..wheels fall off from there. I had the veggie scramble that it seems is made without veggies. I was hoping for this delicious, healthy meal..something bike people would eat 1/2 way through a tough ride. Well if that was the case, you would die on the way home...or at least be in need of food. This was a veggie scramble that I don't think was even 2 eggs, no veggies that I could see (maybe diced onion, perhaps). They had some tasty potatoes with it, hence the scramble, but there were like 10 of them... Definitely not worth stopping for brunch here...one of the worst breakfast I've had...and I stay in a lot of hotels post Covid..that says something! KT
Beef brisket was amazing. Got it on the 1914 salad. Didn 't love the chipotle ranch dressing, it was too sweet. I loved the queso though. That should be the dressing for the salad!
This is a fantastic spot to stop for a beer and lunch while biking along the trail. The outdoor seating is excellent, and the service is usually prompt. My favorite dish is the grilled cheese paired with a side of Ruthie.
I had a great experience at Minburn Burger. The burger was spicy, though it couldn't quite compete with the flavors of Singaporean cuisine. I stopped by after a challenging bike ride against a strong headwind, and the friendly bar staff made my visit even better. The burger itself was juicy and delicious.
