The menu includes seasonal pasta and 2 types of weekly spiced curry, both served with salad. The pasta is priced at 850 yen for a single dish, or 1,150 yen for a drink set. The spiced curry is priced at 900 yen for a single dish, or 1,200 yen for a drink set. An additional 100 yen for curry mixing, or 50 yen for ordering a cafe au lait with a drink set. Weekly sweets include roll cake for 400 yen, fluffy lemon sherbet and vanilla ice cream for 300 yen each. Drinks available are freshly ground coffee, Kuwacha from Ueyama, apple juice for 400 yen and cafe ole for 450 yen. The spiced curry is of high quality, with a strong but gentle spiced flavor. Even my son who doesn't like spicy food enjoyed the weekly butter chicken curry. Payment with the electronic payment service peypey was convenient. There are 2 table seats with chairs, 2 table seats with tatami mats, and 2 hearth seats. You can enjoy a view of the terraced rice fields from the porch and the tatami table seats. I visited on a sunny day during Golden Week, and even without air conditioning, the building was pleasantly cool. I was truly healed by the leisurely time spent watching the terraced rice fields.
I tried the seasonal pasta (mackerel and eggplant) and mulberry leaf tea. The salad and curry were sold out that day. (It was still around 2:00 PM, so maybe it's very popular). It's quite challenging to get to this restaurant deep in the mountains on a narrow winding road, but it's worth the trip. The food is delicious, and the view of the terraced rice fields is wonderful. I'd like to visit during the autumn foliage season next time. The renovated old farmhouse building had a charming and lovely atmosphere. The plastered walls and toilets were well-maintained, giving off a nice vintage feel.
Lovely cafe near the terraced rice fields, with the possibility of taking a nap on the veranda;; The spicy curry was also delicious.
