The Social American Tavern - Milwaukee

I was disappointed with my experience! I went on a date at The Social, and nobody seemed prepared for us. They wanted us to sit in the unappealing part of the restaurant. To make matters worse, the prices are quite high. I won't be returning!

We waited an incredibly long time for two sandwiches and a salad—almost an hour, which is far too long when you're hungry. Considering it wasn't very busy, we were puzzled about the delay. However, our server was fantastic; she really did her best to make the situation better. Kudos to her!

The service was excellent, and while the food was good, it could have used a bit more flavor.

I had the cheeseburger, which I ordered medium. When it came out the bottom of the bun was burnt black. How does the chef send it out that way? The burger itself was well done and very dry. It felt like it had been cooked hours before and sat. The cheese was hard and dried out. The burger was not edible. The only thing on the plate that was good was the leaf of lettuce and slice of tomato. On the plus side, my husband said his salmon was ok.

Great experience at this restaurant! It is a must try!
