We started off with a few appetizers. The Reuben rolls - excellent. Meat & Cheese Board - okay, I could take or leave it. And the German Pretzel, which as okay. The complimentary bread with the pretzel coating was very good and flavorful. The beer selection was a little more Milwaukee centric which is certainly okay. I had a Schlitz beer for the first time, and the last. I quickly finished so I could switch to something better - Spaten Lager. Much better and easier to drink. For my entree, I had the Pork Shank, advertised as the most famous dish on the menu. Absolutely did not disappoint. Best I have ever had. Comes w/choice of sauerkraut and/or boiled red cabbage. I had both. Depending on personal preference and what you may be in the mood for. As for the actual pork, it was fall off the bone tender and unbelievably full of flavor. Very large portion which I could not finish. I highly recommend Maders as the best German restaurant in WI. It truly is a winner!

Maders has great German food. Every entree is worth a try, and the bread is amazing. Big beer list when you drink. Grief Friendly service with place in the city center. I will come back!
