Breakfast was a different kettle of fish, ok if you order from the restaurant but the hot buffet was not up to scratch. On the second morning the staff were more interested in standing around chatting instead of paying attention to the customers. Quite embarrassing really
Ate in this hotel restaurant which aspires to, and delivers on, fine dining at a reasonable price. Staff made an effort to make you feel welcome. Fillet beef main was very good, as was the pork belly starter. Lovely place to eat.
Came here for a Sunday lunch with a Groupon voucher. Big mistake.
We went here after being gifted a Groupon voucher. Pitched as a fine-dining restaurant the decor was ok but it's striving for something it will not achieve. It would be better off having something that is modern, airy and smart casual. The dining room was pretty quiet for a Saturday night and lacked atmosphere because of this. I would estimate 35%full. The service was friendly and efficient, no complaints there. We had a good table with space which was nice.
I booked a Groupon meal for four people (4* Two Course Meal with Prosecco) at the Woughton Hotel Seasons Restaurant for the 25th Jan. When we arrived the venue looked lovely and as we were early we had a drink in the bar. We made our way to the restaurant where two men were seated but had to wait for about five minutes before a waiter arrived and showed us to our seats. We were seated in the back part of the restaurant which was dimly lit it made us feel like 2nd class citizens! During our meal the two men left and two other people were seated in the more brightly lit, front part of the restaurant as they were eating from the à la carte menu! We selected our starters and mains and eventually the starters were served. Two of us had the soup which was nicely presented in a jug with the bowl on a small rectangular plate. Unfortunately it was not piping hot and when poured into the cold bowl, it chilled off even more. Also the taste was very nondescript it was supposed to be vegetable but it was hard to tell. Annoyingly the waiter lent across us to serve instead of serving us from the left. After some time, the mains arrived but unfortunately the two duck dishes were not as expected. The duck was tough and again nowhere near hot enough. One dish was changed for sea bass after complaining, but this too was not attractive or tasty. Overall the menu was very limited. The restaurant was almost empty and so there was no excuse to serve luke warm food all in all the food was mediocre and the service sub standard and very slow. We were bitterly disappointed and left before the table had been cleared. My father phoned and complained to the manager (Gareth) who said he would talk to the head chef and get back to him. We are still waiting for a response.... very unimpressed with the whole experience. Would not recommend eating at this hotel.
