We were sited next to two untidy tables full off unfinished food, serviettes on the floor, it was not pleasant to sit there for 30minutes before somebody came to clear it out, oh and forgot to pick up dirty napkins off the floor. There was hardly any salad, most of trays sauces were empty and it was 6pm, rolls were not fresh, looked stale, my daughter had one bite and said they didnt tasted fresh. Pepsi tasted flat, couldn't drink it. Steak was ok but too grisly and lukewarm and halloumi again lukewarm, only chips were hot. The place also looked very understaffed. Sorry, but I wont be going there again.
The restaurant is lovely, the staff were lovely, and the food was delicious. The only thing I would like to see changed, is more mini desserts. I don't like blackberries, and I'm not a big fan of brownies, I did try the brownie, but didn't like it.
A Tuesday lunch (online booking) for 1pm for myself and my parents. My father is Diabetic so we need to make sure he eats on time, hence the booking. Booking wouldn't have been necessary otherwise. I haven't lived in Milton Keynes for 27 years and was visiting the folks. Really impressed with the menu (it's essentially pub fayre) but with a huge amount of choice! I wanted to try their rotisserie chicken but I also wanted ribs. They had a menu item which had both! Result! The sage and onion fries were tasty (and a bit different) the accompanying gravy pot was excellent and just what the dish needed. It would've been a bit dry without it and I love dipping my fries in gravy! We were seated quickly, served politely and the food came fresh and really pretty promptly. We all really enjoyed what we'd ordered...parents went for Scampi and Fish&Chips. The free salad bar was superb, tonnes of choice! The only downside for me, is that it's pretty dark inside and the furniture (some chairs) were a bit grubby. They've definitely seen better days and the toilets were closed. The signage was terrible and a customer told me that I had to use the ladies. After eating the ribs I only needed to wash my hands. I'd certainly make a return visit.
My wife asked for steak well done but it came back rare The waitress when informed immediately took the steak back to the kitchen however by the time she returned it my wife had already eaten the rest of her food and wouldn’t eat the steak on its own I never complain about restaurants I simply do not return so we payed including the supplement and left Also the lad who took our order did not appear to listen to anything we said the likely cause of the error) and I had to ask for a beer after I had ordered which he had forgotten
So my family of 12 gathered at 2hay used to be the place to celebrate anything good that happened in our lives. We were here tonight to celebrate my daughter in laws birthday and the service was amazing. We handed the cake over as we booked in, well I say handed it over, they offered to take it and asked when we would like it delivered . We all had salad to start, which was a lovely fresh selection of all the good stuff, even raisins and pineapple for the kids. Our main meals were served hot and were all delicious. Our waitress checked we were all happy with our food, and as soon as we had all finished the clearing of the table was carried out really well. Then they brought the birthday cake over with all the candles and sang happy birthday along with us. The staff made this evening so wonderful for us and I would like to thank them and really recommend this particular harvester.
