Lady that served us obviously didn’t want to be there was rude and very abrupt and couldn’t break a smile. Very disappointing.
We stopped by 'Chopstix Noodle Bar' for a fast and affordable lunch, unfortunately, we were disappointed. The initial aroma was inviting, which led us to choose to dine there. The restaurant promotes their freshly prepared and healthy, additive-free food, but the taste did not match the description. My husband ordered rice with 1 topping (Katsu curry) for £4.99, which he found to be just okay. I opted for noodles with 2 toppings (tempura prawns and barbecue chicken) for £5.99, but both lacked flavor. We received a scratch card for a free portion of spring rolls, which turned out to be the best part of the meal, though they were not very filling. The server was friendly, but at one point, she left the door open and chatted with two others for a while before returning to serve us. She quickly washed her hands and donned gloves, but I noticed this was not enough to prevent cross-contamination. Another lady came and went, returning to handle food without visibly washing her hands. Overall, if you don't have a discerning palate and are looking for a quick and cheap meal, this place might be suitable. However, if you prioritize taste and food safety, I would recommend avoiding Chopstix Noodle Bar.
We visited Chopstix as we’d tried the chain elsewhere and thought it would be a quick option whilst shopping. This was not a quick option.... I wanted to be able to say that this branch was as good as the others we’d tried, however, the queue was long and the two ladies at the till/drinks fridge seemed intent on finishing their personal conversation- much to the chagrin of the poor lady serving the food. I put in our order- one rice base, one noodles, there were so many noodles in my rice, I should’ve just asked for noodles. Out of the two ‘toppings’ I chose, neither were available. I enquired with the chef as to how long I would have to wait for the beef and he just stared at me disdainfully and shrugged. My partner wanted the Thai red chicken- also unavailable so we were then limited and ended up paying extra for options which weren’t our first choice. In total, in my medium box, I received 7 pieces of chicken for £8.50. In my partners box, he had 5 pieces of chicken and 4 prawns for £8.50. When we paid, the women at the til were still chatting and I had to ask twice for drinks. The floor was covered rice and chicken bones, the tray had greasy gunk underneath when I carried it back to the table and the place was so crowded that I gave up queuing to complain after 10 minutes of standing waiting. All in all this was a disgusting, expensive meal. I wish I’d gone to five guys instead
Loved it. Very clean and well presented. The food is brilliant nice and really tasty. I definitely will be passing through the area.
Despite the decent appearance of the restaurant and the enticing aroma of the food, the rubbery noodles and slimy dishes covered in salty marinade will leave you feeling disgusted. The staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming, with blank expressions as they greet you. While some may enjoy this place, I can confidently say that if you have any sense of taste, you will not be pleased with your experience here.
