We reserved online and got a confirmation immediately, unlike other houses that did not react at all. We were very kindly greeted and as soon as it was found that our German NIcht is too good, the staff spoke more slowly so that we could understand them. All employees were very attentive and considering how difficult they had to work, they were very efficient. We sat right next to the bar and were able to observe the pace at which beer was poured and served. So many are cast... Faust, the local brew was offered in so many different flavors and styles, and the price was really God. The menu had a good selection of traditional meals and prices very reasonable. We chose the wine roasts and pan. We even asked for a change in the menu, which was not a problem. The food was excellent. We'll return one day.
The beautiful Renaissance Zum Riesen Gasthaus and inn (Inn of the Giant) has been hosting travellers since the 15th Century. It is Germany's oldest inn. As might be expected it was very busy on the sunny day we visited the beautiful town of Mitenberg.
This restaurant has a long, long history. At one time only the emperor could eat there, then it was only for nobility. Now us common folk can eat there. It has to be one of the most beautiful buildings in Mitlenberg. The Bratwurst was juicy and tasty. The potatoes served with it were excellent. We also enjoyed the Faust beer. The food and service were excellent and even the bathrooms were above par.
What an experience! My friend took me for a drive around the Main region and we stopped for lunch in Miltenberg Zum Riesen. The weather was kind, tables were occupied outside so we sat inside. Quick and efficient service took our orders in no time, the menu is in a form of a newspaper featuring regional cuisine and 16 different beer's from the local Faust Brewery which is also a short walk from the Restaurant.I liked the ambience, the food, and of course the beer.I just hope I have the chance to eat here again during this trip to Germany.Keep it up fellows!!!
We took lunch here after spending the day hiking Miltenberg. The food was very good, the bier thirst quenching and the service attentive.
