Evening With Friends Restaurnt

My family has visited this restaurant for Thanksgiving dinner 3 or 4 times and it has always been great! This year was no exception. There was plenty of delicious, hot food and the service was perfect. I particularly enjoyed the chicken dumpling soup from the salad bar, which was unlike any other I have tried. If I could get the recipe, it would truly top off the experience. Thank you, Friends from Evening with Friends!

We have enjoyed dining at Evening With Friends Restaurant in the past, but our recent experience was disappointing. After driving nearly 50 miles from Lincoln, we found the salad bar almost empty, cold potatoes, sauerkraut that tasted like it came from a can, and mostly pork dishes on the buffet. The dressing and dinner rolls were also cold, and someone came and lightly stirred the food without thoroughly mixing the hot and cold items. The only highlights were the fried chicken, gravy, and homemade doughnut holes.

We enjoyed eating in the Evening With Friends restaurant in the past, but after we drove out of Lincoln, nearly 50 miles, we were extremely disappointed about the food. There was almost nothing on the salad bar, the potatoes were cold, the sauerkraut tasted like it was just shaken out of a can, almost everything on the buffet was pork in any way (poor and sauerkraut, disc pork, grill pork ribs), the dressing was also cold, and the dinner rolls were hard and cold. During the evening, a person came to the food with a spoon, but she really didn't wake it up so that the hot food was mixed with the cold above. The only good things on the buffet were fried chicken and heavy. And the homemade doughnuts were pretty good.

Our family was there 3 or 4 times for Thanksgiving dinner and always great! This year was no different! There was a lot of food, was hot and really good! The service was also perfect. Charle's Pub is a great place with really excellent meals at exceptional prices. The manager also recognizes customers once they've visited and greets them personally. Small town friendliness, service and price that can compare to any restaurants in larger communities. We'll worth the trip ... especially Friday and Saturday!
