Today my Scout Ed and I tried the buffet at the El Cerrito Mexican Restaurant on Cobbs Ford Road in Millbrook. It is easy to reach with many parking spaces and seating. El Cerrito has an extensive lunch menu, but on Friday to Monday they offer a buffet. We were there to try the $8.95 buffet (only food, drinks and tax extra). After receiving our drinks, chips and salsa, we turned to the buffet tables to see what was available. On the hot bar you will find pre-rolled small burritos with chicken or beef or you can your own with loose ingredients (bef, chicken, rice, paprika, roasted beans, cheese) with soft tortillas, hard taco bowls or hard taco bowls. You can add olives, jalapenos, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and a selection of melons and fruits. Churros and other pastries complete the buffet offer. I watched my buffet a plate rule, tried a bit almost everything on the hot bar and add a few on the cold bar. I enjoyed what I chose to get some prefabricated burritos and some loose ingredients. Ed didn't get so much on the first pass, so he went for a few extra articles. The Guacamole was excellent. The desserts were delicious, especially the Churros. Our server took our tea and made sure everything was good. I asked about taking a group and they have plenty of space for the radio stations I want to bring. The air temperatures were good, with some fans blowing around the cold air. My group is sure to enjoy the experience. If you only want to come from Montgomery for a worthy Mexican lunch, climb I 65 north to Pratville at the exit Cobbs Ford Road, turn right and El Cerrito is at 2330 in the orange building to the right. Order from the menu or enjoy the lunch buffet 11am 2pm Friday to Monday.
Lunch there last Sunday. The offer offers a buffet only on weekends. The buffet food is the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. You can also order in the menu.
This is fabulous food. The Chili Rellenos are the best I have ever eaten, both beef and shrimp versions. We have often eaten here and tried many different things. Everything was wonderful! You can't go wrong. Also the weekend buffet is amazing, and quite a lot.
My wife and I had only one meal in El Cerrito; it was excellent! We are tourists from So Cal, so we regularly eat authentic Mexican dishes. We had Chile Colorado and Chile Relleno. We also had a margarita. The drinks were excellent, given the alcohol laws of Alabama. El Cerrito would be successful everywhere; it is excellent, authentic Mexican cuisine.
This place has the best Mexican food I have ever eaten. Everything was delicious and service was great too.
