We're often in Milan and tonight was our second dinner at Bussarakham in the past two months. Our impression was the same. We've travelled to Thailand and I've personally dined in at least 50 Thai restaurants in my 70 years on this earth. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous: lots of wood, elegant artifacts and a very luxurious ambiance. It's really off the charts. Service was excellent and attentive. However, the cuisine heads in the opposite direction and goes downhill fast. First of all the prices: €18 for Phad Thai with THREE shrimps , €11 for a tiny bowl of vegetable soup and €8 for a Singha beer. The cover charge is also high: €4 per person. Their spring rolls as an appetiser are the tiniest I've ever seen. Their Phad Thai was tasteless, served with extra wide noodles ?! and minimal sauce so it was extremely dry. The cuisine served here is more similar to what you might find in a Chinese restaurant. I've never seen Thai food like this ever. It was disappointing and ridiculously expensive I can't imagine ever returning here again.
Beyond the pretty façade there’s a fake Thai restaurant with non-Thai management and cooks. Nothing here is by far similar to what you can eat in Thailand. The satay, the curries, the veggies, all is bland and overpriced. Rude waiters.
Very charming Thai restaurant, with extremely fast service, good food and a very pleasant ambience. The mixed appetizers are a must try, and so their yellow curry chicken, the best thing I ever had it just melted in your mouth. The staff is very friendly and the room upstairs has traditional Thai low tables, with a hidden lower leg area to sit the charm of the floor without the inconveniences of actually sitting on the floor. Prices are not cheap, but this is expected in Milan and you will definitely pay for the quality you get. Their toilets are also beautiful and very well furnished.
I made the mistake of ordering from this place... They should be ashamed of calling themselves Thai and I paid 21€ for a dish with 6 shrimp and 1 floret of broccoli... Paid 13€ for a cup of soup which tasted of soap and don't get me started on the sticky rice... A lump of rice floating in some sugary liquid with an overripe half mango next to it... Not sure how they stay in business... Overall bill was 60€ for 1 person and they didn't even give me some plain rice ....
