Browns B Q Llc - Midland

I was visiting from out of town and being a Texan, had a craving for local BBQ. Browns had excellent reviews so I thought, Why not Big mistake. The ordering process was confusing. I couldn't figure out where the line began and it was hard to even find the menu posted on the wall. Finally, I ordered a 1 meat meal: brisket, pinto beans (vegetarian) and slaw. BTW, they have an entire vegan menu if you are not a carnivore, also a lot of burrito options. Then I sat down to wait for my meal. And waited. And waited. It must have been 30 minutes before I got my order. And it's barbeque!!!! Doesn't BBQ mean that you just slice a few pieces off the brisket and spoon out the beans and slaw? I mean, everything is premade; how long can it take? On to the food itself. On the plus side, the beans were great: tangy, filling and everything that a BBQ fan expects. The slaw was good but the chopped kale was a surprise. Not bad, just surprising. It's probably due to the vegan influences. But at a BBQ restaurant, the brisket should be the star of the show. But it's not the star here., sadly. First of all, it was neither sliced nor chopped. Instead, the best way to describe the meat was that it was diced. This made it hard to put any meat on the bread to make a foldover sandwich. Plus, the sauce was on the meat but there was no bottle of sauce on the table to add more. Then, the brisket just didn't taste great. For me, there was too much pepper on the bark; that's all I tasted. I didn't taste any smoke or even the sauce; the pepper was overpowering. It was also dry. So if someone invites me there, I'll happily go and order a burrito or even a burger (beef or Impossible). But not brisket. What a shame!

Came in around 10am for early lunch. Ordered a 2 meat plate. Delicious brisket and pulled pork. Potato salad and baked beans were very tasty! The owner, Brown, is very friendly. Surprised to see that they also have a vegan menu as well.Definitely recommend, will be back next time I'm in Midland!

Swung by and got a burger that was out of this world delicious! The Owners are great people to talk to. Definitely reccomend this gem to anyone who's a fan of BBQ!

Mr.Brown personally made my meal and it was BOMB!!!!!WILL BE BACK
