Canton Restaurant - Midhurst

Although the restaurant looked very clean and the Hostess was very nice to talk to, the food was not good at all. We ordered 7 dishes. The BBQ ribs were not fresh at all. They were dried up and hard as a rock, inedible. The Pad Thai was horrible. It was orange in color and the noodles were overcooked and stuck together in a huge clump. The vegetables in all the dishes were limp and not fresh tasting at all. The spring bean sprouts in the spring rolls were dried up and looked like black hair. The cheese in the cheese won tons tasted like frosting, sweet tasting unlike cheese. The beef in the beef w/vegetables was all stuck together in a ball, very strange. Over all, the food was bland and not worth the money. The containers were small in comparison with other Chinese restaurants. It was my first and last purchase from this restaurant.

After a long, hot and stressful day we decided to order dinner to share with friends! The food arrived at the specified time. It was hot, plentiful and delicious. Every dish tasted fresh and flavourful. We all enjoyed it immensely. We will definitely use this local gem again.

We went there today for an early dinner. The lady who waited on us seemed quite nice. The place seemed nice and clean. No real menus, they give you the take out menus to order from. She brought our meals while my husband was away from the table. She put mine down and his. She looked at his, and said something, and picked it up and walked towards the kitchen, but the phone rang and she put it down at the counter and took an order while he food sat there. When she got off the phone, she took it into the kitchen.My husband came back and his food was not there. I didn't want to eat til he got his, we like to eat together. Finally she came with his food and the 2 spring rolls. Weird. The pork in both dishes seemed either old or too well done. But she did give us 4 round pastries that were really nice. They also had a sign in the window help wanted. Perhaps that was the reason for the problems. By the time we ate (not all of it) another waitress had come on. She was really nice and pleasant. I do not think we would go there again.

Had take out here for the first time. Service was fast and the price was fair. The food was decent. It wasn't the best nor was it the worst. I will say that I have tried to order from this place periodically over the past 3 years and tonight was the first time they answered the phone (on the 3rd try). Busy little spot.

Great lunch specials Monday to Friday 11-3. $7 for a choice of 16 items. Friendly and a quick stop on the way to Wasaga beach.
