Mr Sushi Grill - Middletown

Every time I visit this restaurant, I'm consistently impressed. The food is served quickly, the staff is friendly, and the cleanliness is remarkable. This is definitely my top choice for sushi. The hibachi dinners are fantastic as well. I've enjoyed numerous meals here, both for takeout and dining in, and I've never had any complaints. I've celebrated many birthdays here too! I truly love this place; it’s my favorite.

During lunch, they offer various bento boxes featuring a mix of sushi, sashimi, and hibachi, which is perfect if you're undecided on what to order. The portion sizes are generous, and we often leave with leftovers. Even during peak hours, the staff remains friendly and efficient. The restaurant's interior is quite dark, though, and I think a brighter color scheme for the walls and ceiling would really enhance the ambiance—it does feel a bit like stepping into a cave after being outside in the sun. Other than that, we have no complaints!

I had a fantastic lunch experience! I dined in and spent about $20–30 per person. The food was exceptional, earning a perfect 5 out of 5, while the service was fairly good at a 3. The atmosphere was enjoyable, with a rating of 4. I highly recommend trying the Hibachi Chicken!

Now, fast forward to our recent visit, and I’m happy to say I have to give this place five stars! We again sat at the sushi bar. My son ordered hot sake, and I chose two different exotic drinks, both of which were excellent. We started with miso soup, which was good, and then ordered three special rolls that were absolutely fantastic. The rolls were slightly smaller than usual, which I appreciated because I could pop the whole piece into my mouth at once. We enjoyed them so much that we ended up ordering two more rolls, which were also amazing. We particularly loved the Fish Finder and the Christmas roll. I can’t wait to go back for more! I only wish this place were closer to home. The restaurant isn’t fancy but has a pleasant atmosphere. It features several hibachi tables in one section and a small sushi bar, a regular bar, and booths in another area. This setup works well as it allows diners to choose seating based on their meal preferences. The service was outstanding; a waiter was always nearby when we needed something. The sushi chefs focus solely on their craft and don’t interact with patrons, which I’m perfectly fine with. If you're looking for atmosphere, you might be a bit let down, but with sushi rolls that delicious, you hardly need a nice setting. Overall, the prices are very reasonable—I’ve paid a lot more for far less exciting sushi. Their special rolls are incredibly creative, and I keep thinking about the next chance I get to enjoy them!

The food is outstanding, the service is quick, and the bartenders are lovely. The staff is extremely helpful and courteous. The owner is also very friendly and attentive to the customers.
