Cabbages Kings At The Mix - Mid Suffolk

Sadly, since our last visit, this cafe has gone downhill. The menu has become more limited and the cake options have been reduced, which is a shame as the selection of cakes used to be wonderful. The idea of serving food on a wooden block covered in greaseproof paper is not my idea of fun, but maybe it helps to reduce the washing up ? The only cake offering for gluten intolerance is a chocolate brownie. Do people think that is all we eat, as it it the only offering in most poor cafes. The decor is not as clean as it was and it seems a bit run down. I am guessing that the only people who use this cafe now are people who are there for meetings. What a shame, as this used to be a favourite, but not any more!

Went in for a full english and was not disappointed. The lady said it was her first time cooking in that kitchen, she smashed it. Everything cooked to perfection. Even the bacon which normally you can guarantee the rind is not cooked properly in most places. This was awesome. Will deffo be back.

Order was taken, total mess up with order. When received it was not what l ordered. Told it was granary and it was wholemeal. Also, ordered tuna mayonnaise got tuna and cheese. Waited over 30 minutes and got stale cakes. Soup was bitter. So unfortunately had a bad experience. Would l go again. NO!!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch here. The staff are very friendly and the space is light and airy. All the profits that are made go to the Mix youth charity so another reason to pop in and enjoy a coffee and cake!

Good breakfast, reasonable price. Great initiative.
