Thank you for the kindness you have shown me and my husband while we visited in 2020. I watched a video from strictly dumpling and reminded me to let you all know that we loved your restaurant. Best wishes to your business!
What a cool spot, and the Filipino food is legit, as evidenced by the HUNDREDS of cruise ship workers who come over to eat on their days off. This is the best Filipino food I've had in the mainland US (Hawaii has comparable spots). That crispy, deep fried pork belly is something I'll be dreaming about until my next trip. Be adventurous, and you'll surely see some dishes you have NEVER seen (even not from my travels in the Philippines). Highly recommended.
This place is so special. It's the hospitality that is so unique. You will feel like you are at your grandmother place to visit and pick up a plate. The food is good but the owners greets you with so much love. The prices are reasonable and I spent only 12 with drink. There was chicken adobe, pork belly adobe, pancit, and lumpia. This place is definitely a jewel and you take family to this place for casual eating.
Probably one of my favorite places on the planet right now. I loved everything about. Admittedly, they have the home team advantage because I 'm Filipino. But there was just so much about the place that made me happy. To start, the food was absolutely phenomenal. It was exactly like everything I grew up eating. Just like the scene in Ratatouille, when the food touched my tongue, I flashed back through my entire life. It literally made me tear up recalling all those memories. The fact that it 's an old school little shop right in the heart of Miami absolutely makes me smile. Around the corner are the signs for a new restaurant opening in a few months. Pictures of supermodels in swimsuits eating high end meals in the desert for some reason. Just lots of douchy vibe in that area. And right I 'm the middle of it, is Manila Kantina with their wonderful buffet using foam plates. I 'd take this spot any day over that DustMiami place. And let 's talk about the staff. Sweet little Nanay (Grandma) literally hands you a tray with plates and utensils and says, KAIN NA! And she 's the cook.I kind of don 't want anyone else to go there because I don 't want to ruin this perfect little place. But I 'd be doing it a disservice if I didn 't say how much I loved everything about it. So go try it out. But don 't bring too many people, please!!!
The food was fantastic! Owner Judith was very involved and exceptionally friendly. The prices are very reasonable for such high-quality dishes. The atmosphere felt like home. Judith made us feel like old friends, even though we had just met. If you're in downtown Miami, treat yourself and dine here—you won't regret it!
