We got there early and chose to sit outside on the patio, enjoying the sunny weather while overlooking Miami's coastline. The staff was welcoming and helped us pick the perfect type of stone crab for our preferences. They mentioned that the smaller the claw, the sweeter it would be. Opting for the large claws struck just the right balance between size and sweetness. Although we did sample a few other dishes, the claws were definitely the standout. The Dijon aioli dipping sauce served with them added a delicious touch to the freshness of the stone crab. If you're in Miami, Garcia's is the place to go for outstanding stone crab claws.
The food at this restaurant was incredibly delicious. The grilled seafood dish was by far the best I have ever had. We were initially surprised that the shrimp scampi didn't come with pasta, but they were able to serve it to us when we asked. The portions were on the smaller side, but the quality of the food more than made up for it. The outdoor seating offers a view of the water, but it was too hot for us to sit outside. The interior of the dining area could use some updating. While the prices are a bit high and you may not leave completely full, I would definitely return for the great food.
We decided to use the Valet service, which we found to be reasonably priced. Initially, we found the restaurant layout a bit confusing, but the Valet and a staff member helped guide us. We briefly explored the downstairs area before deciding to dine outdoors on the upper level. The food was delicious and I enjoyed everything I ordered. I tried a Caribbean Punch drink, which was decent, although I was disappointed by the weak drinks served in Miami. Unfortunately, they did not have lobster rolls available, which was a letdown for me. Johnny and Marvin stood out as hardworking individuals. From a management perspective, I think there could be some improvements in terms of organization among the servers. Overall, it was a relaxed and enjoyable spot. The music was great too - not too loud, but it still made me want to dance, tapping into the dancer within me.
Garcia’s is a Miami institution period. If you are looking for a casual place to have really good seafood and amazing service, then this is your place. The servers here treat you like you’re part of their family, the seafood is delicious and fresh, from the boat to your plate type of deal. Love Garcia’s!
This local seafood restaurant next to the water is divine. The parking can be confusing, so we did the valet, but there are parking places around. The freshness of the food, the quality of the cuts, the variety of options, the knowledgeable staff... awesome place for a business meeting, family meal or date night really. I had the blackened mahi-mahi with maduros (fried ripe plantain) and tostones (fried green plantains) and it was the right amount, because we ordered octopus and oysters for starters. The guava cheesecake was nice, just a bit too sweet for me. Next time I'll come I'll likely do starters and the grilled seafood platter that looked scrumptious
