News Cafe - Miami Beach

Eclectic menu you can get drinks from the bar or coffee or breakfast or seafood...We had drinks there at night and when I couldn't sleep, ended up returning at 4 AM for breakfast and coffee. The waiters were mostly young hiphopsters with crooked baseball caps, pants belted beneath their assess and too cool attitudes, but the service was adequate plus we sat in there for, like, three hours and no one complained or even seemed to care. I had a variation of eggs benedict that would have been fine had it not been for their signature super rich cream cheese hollandaise sauce that smothered my perfectly poached eggs. The coffee was good. The fresh squeezed OJ tasted like it had been quite a number of hours since it had been fresh squeezed. You can sit inside or out and it is right across Ocean Drive from the beach which is quite nice.

Service was very fast, very relaxing ambiance. Outdoor cafe with tables under the tree and views the beach. Nothing special with the food ordered. Easy to find it is located in Ocean Drive and for breakfast this will be the best spot and with an ambiance so relaxing. You can even hear birds chirping while having breakfast.

We were looking for a satisfying yet affordable breakfast before going to the beach. We were extremely pleased with this restaurant. The service was prompt and friendly, and the freshly squeezed juice was delicious. Our meals were also excellent and the portions were very generous - my friend's yogurt with fruit and nuts ended up being three times larger than we expected. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

This place is great for people watching. The food is good and the service is typical lazy South Beach service. The mojitos are the best.

The News Cafe is always touted as a 'must do ' when visiting South Beach. It is in a great location and you can 't beat the views, if you enjoy people watching. The chairs are incredibly uncomfortable, so don 't plan on sitting there enjoying the view for too long! The food is mediocre. I have eaten lunch there several times and found the salads to be no better than your local cafe. Breakfast was ok, the fried potatoes were good, but the menu is very uncreative and nothing I have eaten there can be called memorable. The service is decent, but the atmosphere is very pretentious. The clientele are so busy trying to see and be seen that the whole mood becomes uncomfortable, especially in the small wooden chairs...OUCH!
