El Rincon

The El Rincon is located in a plaza that is back from the main tractor in Miahuatlan, and offers a surprisingly quiet place to relax and read a book or meet with friends. The coffee is great and the salads and sandwiches are very good (or exceptional by Miahuatlan standards). The cook and the owner also make beautiful cookies for dessert, and the service of her and her partner is always friendly and fast. This is just a consistently beautiful place to stop for a meal in Miahuatlan.

First in a recent explosion of cafés in Miahuatlan, Rincon set the bar for what should be expected from a café. For beginners, the decor is very nice, clean and modern to sit with couches or tables and enjoy time with friends. For Miahuatlan it is refreshing to have such a clean, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, the coffee is excellent. There is a real espresso machine that has a lovely latte and cappuccinos. If you want to cool off, they also have Fappuccinos and Rincon is the only place where you can find artisanal beers in the city. If you're after a bit of food, there are several baguettes that come with a small salad and full salad with a variety of toppings including goat cheese and candied nuts. For the weekend brunch crowd, you can enjoy an omelette with your choice of toppings and 2 bruschetta. Rincon is a beautiful place to visit with friends, employees or another important one. The atmosphere is refreshingly calm and the food and drink brings you back again and again.

This recently opened café is the initiator of Miahuatlán's coffee culture. There must now be at least three cafés serving a passable cup of Joe. The ferry is friendly and the café also offers a good selection of baguettes, snacks and risky beers.

A beautiful small place to avoid the hectic that is the Miahuatlan metropolis. A simple menu with fresh sandwiches and salads, the chirpy small roly poly owner has recently taken off on a new Italian coffee machine and it also offers quite steeply expensive Artesan beer. On the first Wednesday every month there is also an Intercambio evening, where local professors from the university converse in English and Spanish.
