Le Bellebouche - Mézières-en-Brenne

We came at 1pm on a Thursday in August. Most tables were taken, so we were asked to return in 45 mins, which we did. A further 30 mins wait and we were finally seated. We then waited an age to have our order taken. They seemed very understaffed and the service lacked efficiency. We went for simplicity, ordering a plat du jour (a salad) and two other simple dishes from the menu. When the food came, the salad du jour only had one of the 3 ingredients on the board…How does the kitchen get a plat du jour so wrong? They re did it for me but barely an acknowledgment of a mistake. The food itself was pretty average. Toilet also needed a clean. In short…if you’re coming to enjoy the lake, definitely take a picnic and save yourself a headache. There are lots of picnic tables available and plenty of shade. They do takeaway ice-creams if you want an afternoon treat for the kids.

Cela fait trois fois que nous venons déjeuner ici. Nous sommes toujours bien accueillis et servis. Le menu est simple et court, mais c'est plutôt bien car tout est fait maison (à l'exception des frites). La carte des vins est excellente. Je tiens à mentionner spécialement notre serveur Breton de Nantes pour son accueil superbe.

Campsite very well, the sanitary are very clean. quiet is on the rdv, very nice site.

We stayed in the simple but correct campsite the place is pleasant in the middle of nature suitable for walks I recommend
