We thought that being bigger meant beter choices, but there was nothing decent there. It was so bad that we decided to drive back to Meyras, where we had seen L'Alambic. We did not regret, everything was fantastic. It is located in a quiet spot, in the old town, with a lovely terrace where you can hear the water from an ancient font nearby. We ordered the menu of the day, three courses for 15 euros: janbonette (unique local ham, two very large thick pieces) with salad and white butter (to die for) for first course. For main, quail with fries (delicious fries, and a very generous portion) and cepe mushroom sauce. They offered 5 choices for dessert. I had the apple cake, delicious! Everything was superb, local, and served with kindness in a very homey, relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere. We also had a half liter of red local wine, very good for the unbeatable price of 6 euros.
