Fran's - Meyersdale

My friend and I visited Fran's just before 8:00 a.m. to enjoy drinks and play pool after dinner. Unfortunately, our experience took a turn when we consumed too much and ended up feeling quite unwell. The next day, we were shocked to find several bruises on our knees, head, and hands. When we later spoke to friends, they mentioned that during our call, we said we had been thrown out by the bar staff. The following day, we filed complaints with the New Hope Police Department. Thirteen days later, the police were unable to obtain any security footage from Fran's or even confirm whether the cameras were functional.

We really enjoyed an afternoon here. It was nice to sit outside and the staff was very friendly. We were looking for a bite and a few beers just to relax. The pub and the people fit this mood. The food was good and plentiful, like the drinks. We'll be back.

The outside tiki bar is adorable in nice weather. We love the original inside bar with pool table. Nice big tables to gather around for great food. Fast and friendly service. Awesome pizza and specials!!

It’s a neighborhood bar kind of feel. We were sitting at the bar eating apps and having a drink when different people walk in with 3 dogs. One of the dogs goes to attack one of the other dogs. One of the dogs walks between us and the bar literally squeezing himself between our barstool/our legs and the bar as the owner yells “watch out! Dog coming through” (WTF) One walks behind the bar…bartender pets the dog for awhile and then goes back to serving good without washing his hands. This happened several times. Meanwhile we left our dog out in our car safely in his kennel. We ate the apps and left. Not legal in PA to allow dogs in the restaurant. These were NOT service dogs. Service dogs don’t attack other dogs and misbehave. It’s gross and dangerous.

This restaurant has been owned and run by an accomplished woman named Fran since it opened in 1954, and she is still actively involved today. The atmosphere is welcoming, with friendly patrons and staff. It's a great spot to enjoy a drink, some delicious food, and features like a jukebox and a pool table.
