Definitiw in my top 3 Italian restaurants in Mexico City. eating was delicious, especially my truffle paste. we had the fried gnocchi with prosciutto as appetizers and when we all tried another pasta. all their pasta are made to home! the quality of the food they get here is top! they have inside and outside seats and I recommend to them a reservation for lunch or dinner. we tried a tiramisu for dessert that was fantastic and perfect to share. her espresso is also very good. can't wait to come back here and try another pasta or have the truffle again!
Friday night — Sartoria — there are no empty seats. The exception, there’s a nice counter that seats 4 just as you walk in. Perfect for solo without a reservation or a couple. Great service, nice presentation, good atmosphere — especially if a date night. The menu features great options that do not contain meat or poultry. Located next to Cafe Toscana and Parque Rio de Janeiro. If you come in the morning the adjoining espresso bar, Buna, is excellent. Opens at 8 a.m.
The food is tasty. Their cheese selection is pretty good and high quality so is their pasta. The wine by glass selection is too narrow. Prices are average as other Italian restaurants in Mex City. Staff is not very friendly so they should be aware of this. Panna cotta is tasty but it has too many ingredients so the main flavor gets lost also it looks and tastes more like jello. Tomato salad is a must!
Sadly, I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. The servers were very friendly, but portions on the small side sadly, and the taste did in no way justify the insane price for a plate of pasta and a piece of meat. $55 USD and I didnt even buy an alcoholic drink! They even charged $3 for a bottle of water when other tables got a free bottle for the table. To pay that much in Mexico City, more than what I would pay in New York, I was expecting much, much more. Very disappointing, and you can get bigger portions, tastier food for a lower price at somewhere like Lardo (which is still considered on the higher end for Mexico City)
