Although the menu is all French (thank god for google translate)the service was in English. Food was very good. And we had our share of Couscous, coming from the Middle East. The girls had a great dinner and so did we. Highly recommended. To all of you couscous lover, they serve a fine ball of Couscous to share (butter on top if you wish to pass) with a huge ball of Veg soup. All the meet you order comes in a center plate to add. It’s rather different than we know it but was good nevertheless.
For our last night in Metz we were found this place after a lot of other restaurants were fully booked, thankfully La Couscoussiere had a table available. At first we sat outside but the smog of smoke meant we wanted to go in. It took the wait-staff over 20minutes to come to our table to offer us drinks and menus. The whole system seemed disorganised and very, very slow. Eventually our drinks arrived and we attempted to decipher the menu, all in French. Upon deciding, it took us ages to actually order as no one would come to our table. A further 50minutes after ordering, our food actually came. The food came in drips and drabs, we had no idea who 's was who 's and it was a bit of a nightmare. This aside, the food tasted rather good. We went for the 'Couscous Royal ' between 3 and a 'Couscous Montagne ' for one. The couscous was the best we 've ever had and the accompaniments were very tasty, the meat cooked well and the sauces very good. After we 'd finished eating a waiter brought yet another part to our dish, apologising that he hadn 't brought it earlier. The only time service was quick was when we ordered the bill (ha! . After three hours spent at the restaurant we had had enough so went back to our hotel. The food here was pretty good but the service was so poor and slow it let them down massively. Instead of leaving satisfied by the experience, we were frustrated and bored, glad to go.
I went there a busy Friday night and even if there was not a lot of people, the food was pretty good. the director was friendly and attentive and my food arrived within a reasonable, fresh and warm time. There was a good atmosphere. I'd go back.

The food came drop by drop, we had no idea who was and it was a little nightmare. apart from that, the food was pretty good. We opted for the 'Royal Cuckoo' between 3 and a 'mountain cuckoo' for one. couscous was the best we've ever had and the accompaniments were very tasty, well cooked meat and very good sauces. After we're done eating, a waiter brought another part of our dish, apologized for not bringing it earlier. the only time the service was fast, it is when we ordered the invoice (ha.)! We don't know the Algerian cuisine and ate only here because everywhere was full on a busy Saturday night. We ordered the royal couscous for 3 people and a bottle of Algerian wine, which was quite drinkable. The food was well prepared and tasty but didn't happen at once, it might be so that this kitchen is served? service was slow and inattentive but not a complete disaster. However, I would probably go back.
