After dining at a nearby restaurant, we chose to have dessert at the Cake Club. As a fan of pistachios, I decided to try the pistachio macaron and was delighted with the taste. It was just the right amount of sweetness. We also ordered a chocolate cake (I can't remember the name) and it was delicious as well. It was the perfect way to end my birthday celebration. The atmosphere of the place was calming and pleasant, and the staff was friendly and attractive (if that matters). I will definitely be returning to enjoy their desserts again.
The sharing platters were plentiful. We ordered one with fish, chicken, and calamari. The servers were attentive, regularly refilling our water glasses and checking on our meal. However, the highlight of The Cake Club is definitely the dessert. In addition to the option to buy Royce chocolates, there is a wide variety of cakes to choose from. Every bite is delicious, no matter which one you pick. Overall, we would dine here again, though we may just stick to the desserts since the main course wasn't particularly outstanding.
We were a group of ten that decided to have dessert and coffee/tea here after dinner someplace else. There were only 2 other small groups of people when we arrived. I was seated on the other end of the tables and there was one waiter standing near me. When we were ready to order, the I asked out waiter Abel if they had Green Tea, he said yes. I wanted to try the Macarons so I asked if they had a Pistachio flavored one, he again said yes. After taking the order from the three of us. He just left without even bothering to ask for the orders from the rest of our group. The other waiters were unmindful and just chatting away by the cake display in the center of the restaurant. When our order finally came, I found the color of my green tea quite off. So I asked Abel if it was the green tea that I ordered. I was dumbfounded when he said that it was Jasmine and that they didn't have Green Tea. When I told him that I specifically asked him about it, he said yes but then apologized. So OK, I said never mind and I'll just take the Jasmine. When my Macarons came, it again tasted differently. So I asked Abel again if it was Pistaschio which I ordered and to which he acknowledged , I was again surprised when he said that it was Olive Oil and that they didn't have Pistaschio...aaaargh! I had it changed to Salted Caramel instead. That's just my experience, others in our group also had there orders mixed up. We even had to ask three times and different waiters before we were even served water. It was definitely a bizaare experience and like being in the Twighlight Zone. I can clearly say that we were dressed and behaved appropriately so I can't really say that there was something wrong with our group. We had wanted to try some others sweets on display but decided to continue somewhere else. It was one of the worst service I've ever encountered in such kind of establishment and to even think that this outlet is owned by a reputable Hotel.
Had a business meeting in The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel, located at the West Side High Street Complex in the Bonifacio Global City. Tried their 2 of 4 best pastry products: Delice Chocolat and Le Royale with mild brewed coffee (you have a choice of strong, mild or decafe). They have great sandwiches and pasta too. One will definitely be impressed with their line-up of Royce Chocolates. Will definitely go back with my wife for another visit.
