The menu options were limited, but everything I tried, including the catfish, Hainanese chicken, and pork knuckles, was delicious. The staff were very polite and the restroom was clean, which set this establishment apart from others in the area.
Love it, love it, love it, simple as that. Services was great they were looking happy and enjoying what they doing. I order egg fried with extra green and was just delicious, for main the steamed basa fish full of flavour and beautifully presented for dessert matcha cake with passion fruit ice cream and sponge... definitely to die for. Highly recommended!
Hey Handsome of Chef Nicco Santos (Your Local) lives up to the hype! The menu is southeast asian fusion but not your usual asian resto. We ordered the pork belly roast which has different layers of flavors. It welcomes you with a tangy sourness but deep in the flavor profile, you get to taste good sweet roast belly barbeque. We also got the leg of lamb, with durian paste instead of mint jelly. The lamb falls off the bone, is very tender and has a good curry taste. Price-wise, it's more expensive than Your Local so I wont suggest it for casual lunches or dinner. We didnt get to try the drinks but they have an extensive drinks list (2 pages at that). Try to get seats at the bar so you can see everything prepared right before your eyes. They have 2 seatings for dinner. 630 and 830PM.
Went there with my niece for brunch and we were both wowed! The Beetroot Paneer was a delight to the eyes and palate! It has saag sitting in a delicate bright purple beetroot curry, topped with pappadam and mushroom, complemented by a yogurt sauce. It offered the rich flavors of traditional curry and the subtlety of saag, beetroots, and homemade yogurt. Paired with quinoa, it was delicious! We also had the pork belly roast. It was flavorful and tender. The red onion with roasted corn relish that came with it complemented the flavors really well, making it a very nice dish indeed! For dessert, we tried the pandan custard. Its presentation was a wonderful surprise! The egg white top layer dusted with matcha powder is dome-shaped and ridged. Inside is the pili and pandan custard - offering an aromatic flavor and an untraditional texture, i.e., it is not smooth like custard pie, and more like a very moist, nutty cake. I liked it a lot! Definitely Hey Handsome is a restaurant worth visiting.
Phils is known for its great service , hospitality and warmth of its people. Knew that prior reservation was essential so called to make a booking. Lady who took the reservation was dismissive and not interested from the get go. No tables available so offered a seat at bar or on communal table. Accepted seats at communal table but requested to be waitlisted to a regular table should one become available due to a cancellation. Then we turn up at the agreed time BUT we don't have a reservation! Girl taking the phone call obviously did not understand. Enter the Manager, Ms Congeniality who claimed to be a part owner. Instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding and suggesting we wait or come back a little later or have a sting at the bar she felt it best to start arguing ! This place has a good rep but restaurants come and go and sooner or later this place will fall because of its arrogant attitude to customers. Advice is to go somewhere else where your presence and money is appreciated.
