The Martindale House - Metamora

One of my favorite restaurants! The Tavern burger with cheese, especially the deluxe version, is my top choice.

We visited for lunch during Canal Days and found the restaurant quite busy, yet the service remained friendly and efficient. The menu isn't overly extensive, but everything we tried was delicious, fresh, and served hot. We particularly enjoyed a lovely wine cocktail. The building has a charming, antique feel that adds to the experience. We enjoyed it so much that we returned for lunch the next day! The apple cobbler was so delicious that we ended up having it on both days!

Came in on the train as part of the foliage tour and found this place was open.Historical building that appears well cared for and it really lends itself to be an old fashioned roadhouse.Food was very good and David was friendly, despite the crush from the tourists. We both agreed our lunches were very filling.

Asked if we could sit at the bar no problem waited 20 minutes and nobody acknowledged us. We left thirsty. Too many great options down the the road in Oldenburg.

Very hospitable staff. Delicious food. We loved it!
