A mio modesto parere e in funzione della mia esperienza dolciaria, codesta pasticceria utilizza prodotti di ottima qualità, cosa veramente rara al giorno d'oggi, e svolgono il loro lavoro con serietà e dedizione... personalmente consiglio i prodotti a base di ricotta, punta di diamante della pasticceria, in quanto alimento delicato e difficile da lavorare, deliziosi e sfiziosi.
CRUPI is one of the best Patisserie, family run pastry making shop in Messina. Generally you get in Messina the top quality pastries, sweets, cookies and desserts of all Sicily, and the average level is quite high!! But lots of them are higher!! One of the best in town is CRUPI. Despite the shop and coffee bar is really tiny and not luxurious as lots of excellent other places, it is always full of people getting their CANNOLI, BABÀ, BIANCO E NERO, LULÙ, SETTEVELI, several different cakes, delicious pastries which you can get also as small (Two Bites) version, Italians call this Mignon ! I know, it 's French, but you know, cuisine words are mostly french .... Most people take them home, and book their order at least half a day earlier, but if you want a special cake, with the size you need, maybe with a name written on top, you should order some days in advance!! For CANNOLI you can go there and get them directly without previous order. CANNOLI are ALWAYS prepared just when you are there!! You may wait some minutes, but it 's worth it!! Of course if you are ordering for 10, 20, or 50 people you have order them in advance. And if you order them for 12 o 'clock, they will be at that time ready! But don 't go there 4 hours later... Sicilian love CANNOLI fresh and crispy! As I wrote in the title, CRUPI is not a Restaurant or similar. So don 't look there for any kind of salty food, snacks or RUSTICI You won 't find there. But next door!! There is a baker who also bakes good savoury pies and ARANCINI and so on. But at CRUPI you can have a perfect coffee (espresso) and the typical breakfast of the local residents!! GRANITA e BRIOCHE!! A soft frozen but creamy dessert different tastes, with the best whipped cream ever (or without), where you dip a heavenly soft and mostly still warm baked brioche in!! The best? CAFFÈ CON PANNA!!! I go to CRUPI each time I 'm in town and I think, it 's a must Bye!
