Donna's Kitchen - Mesquite

Butter Beans. Great place for lunch, haven 't had breakfast here yet. Waitresses all call you 'hon ' or 'sweetie ' and service is always quite impressive. I thought they had butter beans on Tuesdays for the longest, then I went in on a different day and they had em that day. Found out there is no schedule to their sides. I usually have chicken fried steak or the stuffed bell pepper last time. Either is very good. Reminds me of a 'Normas ' knockoff. Very similar, and that 's a compliment.

Breakfast. My husband and I love to eat breakfast here they have a good varity and the food is great.

Just found out today Donna’s permanently closed down. Very disappointed. Been going there for years, made friends with the servers. It was nice to walk in a place and they created you by your name. Loved the food. Senior special was great. Going to miss y’all?

Contrary to the negative reviews I saw about Donna’s Cafe…. I do agree the inside does need a refresh. But, I do believe the waitress was very friendly and informative of our he items on the menu. The quality of the food was very good.

I feel bad for the 2 waitresses they were very busy and had to run back and forth between the tables, do prep in the kitchen and do the front desk hosting job. Because of this wait time to be helped and get food was extremely long. I dont mind that so much however i came here specifically for the steak and eggs but i have an allergy to onion so i asked if they could not season it, the steak apparently is already pre-made and they just warm it up. So i got the eggs hash brown and bacon plate instead. Eggs and bacon were good but the hash browns were so oily there was a puddle under them. Great coffee and kind waitresses.
