Appetizer menu was very limited and didn't really have any hand food. Chips were not warm, salsa was bland and I'm pretty sure poured straight out of a tin can, guacamole was not really great, and served oddly with a tomato slice and.. a beet slice. Yes, I said a beet slice. Why..? I have no clue. The cheese enchilada was pretty good. Oh, the Chile relleno comes with a beef option.. it was not that great. This place looked like its never seen an update since its inception, and I feel like they could benefit from being on an episode of Bar Rescue. Ots almost as of this place does not believe it is susceptible to competition. Because of all these things, I will not be returning to this establishment.Parking: Parking lot was not obvious to find at first, but it is the lot behind the building. A bit cumbersome at first.
The food at El Charro is definitely not exceptional, but it is okay and the staff is very friendly. I recently dined here because another nearby place had a one and a half hour wait just to get a table. So my friends and I decided to give El Charro a try. Three and a half stars for this pretty average Mexican restaurant.
Everything was fantastic except the owner who told us to basically F-off when all we wanted to do was push another table together to accommodate our group. We had high hopes for this spot. The waitress was absolutely amazing and patient but the owner was so hostile towards our group. Wish it was a different experience but here we are.
I’ve been eating here since I was 5years old and the food has never changed. It’s the best in the valley and I’m so thankful that this restaurant is still in business. I’m so blessed that I was able to experience this amazing restaurant with my sons and grandchildren and they got to experience hearing from the owner Eva she’s known me and my parents since I was a little kid. The look on my grandkids faces was priceless. Please go and take your family and friends to El Charro.Parking: A lot of parking spaceKid-friendliness: Very kid friendlyWheelchair accessibility: Very accessible
This is a cute little place and the service was good. The food however, was truly disappointing. I'm not usually one to complain about food. I'm pretty much happy with whatever. We should have walked out once the chips and salsa was served. The chips were crispy and salted perfectly, but the salsa.. it was chunky, which I do prefer, but completely lacking in flavor. I tried adding salt to no avail. When I requested some lime, the waiter explained that they do not bring out limes to diners, as the limes are reserved strictly for the bartenders for their margaritas. He did offer and brought me lemon. Red flag #2.I ordered a chicken tostada and taco combo that comes with rice and beans. Can't go wrong with rice and beans right? Wrong. The beans, again, flavorless. I was beginning to reminisce of my tasteless covid days. I added salt and then lemon, I was desperately seeking flavor...that fixed the beans enough. The rice was better after salt also. That brings me to the tostada. I was betting it was also flavorless. Unable to take an actual bite of the stale tostada, I gave up and ate the topping sans tostada. I think I tasted more without working tastebuds. No amount of salt, pepper, lemon or hot sauce helped. My boyfriend had exactly the same experiences with his order of Chile rellenos, and green chili burrito. This was the first time that I ever just up and left without eating a meal. We paid the bill of course. The staff were attentive, it's not their fault the food is meant for people allergic to flavor.Save your money and go to taco bell.
