Ratsstube Blasius - Merzig

I stayed in the hotel next door belonging to the Restaurant or vis versa. Anyhow I sat in the rear garden and had the most tastiest steak that I have had in years it was delicious and well presented. I even congratulated the chief I was that impressed.

We were escorted to the back garden, and pick our seats. The waitress then proceeded in asking us what we would like to have to drink as we looked over the menu. We started out this hot July evening with a Aperol Spritz, enjoying the atmosphere of sitting in the back garden of the restaurant. The menu offer a variety of dishes : Fish, Beef, Pork, Chicken as well as the Menu of the day.As we reviewed the menu I had the Lacsschnitte Hummer (Salmon ) and my wife the Hauptgang Menu consisting of fish.Since we were both having fish we decided on a liter of Auxerrois Blanc , a white wine that is a sibling of a Chardonnay. Fresh and refreshing, as it rolled over the pallets of the tongue. The salmon was cooked to perfection with a tasteful lobster sauce. The accompaniments were a baked potato with sour cream and chives (my choice) and a garden salad with a delightful vinaigrette dressing. My wife’s meal consisted of a fillet fish, topped with a cream sauce with chives, a baked potato and a blend of mixed sautéed vegetables.We enjoyed a lovely meal here; the food was well prepared and tasty. The portions sizes were good. Felt very welcome in this local restaurant, excellent service and friendly staff.

We like to go to Blasius and eat more often. The lunch table, as well as the regular menu offer a good selection of local cuisine. At lunch table there is always a little extra, such as a strawberry cold bowl with herbs that has tasted very well. The Rumpsteak, as well as the Cordon Bleu is highly recommended. The meat is freshly prepared very well. The food is prepared and not enriched with finished sauces or the like. In the evening you can also choose a three-course menu with different choices for 25 Euros. You can sit inside and outside, depending on the weather. Pavillions are ready outside. Inside it is more rustic. It's very cozy. The staff is also very friendly and flotted. The prices are unfortunately nothing for the small wallet, but it is worth investing the money. A very good restaurant with guest house. the rooms are very nicely furnished and available in different size classes. something strange is that in the single room is not a separate bathroom, but the toilet is only hidden behind a small wall. open living and bathroom area so to speak.
