Original and tasty starters. Most main courses are unfortunately served with French fries. The service is very kind
This cute little restaurant tucked away near the castle offers spectacular views of the river and surrounding area. The menu has several delicious salads on offer (we had the orange and beetroot which was delicious), the tomato and garlic bruschetta and they made the jambalaya vegetarian for us too. It was all so tasty and fresh. The waitress was helpful and spoke excellent English. The food arrived in a timely manner and we enjoyed watching the swallows swooping down near us while we waited. So delightful.
A shaky start, the waitress was a little stern. The food was good but overpriced having had meals of similar quality at far cheaper prices. The house wine was very palatable and the service got better as the evening moved on.My partner had the bacalhau her son had the prawns and I had the black boar steak, all well prepared and filling with side salads, but nothing to write home about. The vista was different with a view of the river and a deserted bread factory but hey it's not there fault it closed.Yes the place was busy, the food was ok, the deserts were good, the wine was agreeable and the waitress was eventually smiling.Would I go back... probably not.Still is a good restaurant just not my best experience in Mértola.
