This is the best Mexican restaurant I've ever been to in Idaho! The foods are amazing and tables are busy. So if you want to have dinner, you should come early enough to get a table!
Erica was our server, seated immediately, served chips that were warm and delicious with the best bean dip around. Our food came quickly, and was amazing and authentic. On a Saturday evening, plenty of room! Loved it.
EXPIRED SODA. I door dashed from this location and shortly after eating and drinking the Diet Coke I began throwing up. The soda was expired and that?s the only thing I could think of as to why I felt sick all of a sudden. It was only by a week, but I don?t think an establishment should be serving expired anything. Also the food is super bland and soggy. The chicken tacos didn?t have too much flavor. I ordered two sides of rice for $7 and the portions were so small and the rice tasted like saw dust, or something similar, very weird taste. The guac was good BUT for $5 the portion is crazy small. Probably won?t be ordering from here again. Please be careful eating here, $44 wasted only to immediately throw it up.
It's a 4.4..., but I'll round up to 5. Not as good as the other location on Glenwood. They're Al Pastor had great sauce and flavor, but the meat was too soft. Al pastor Just not as good as Andrades on Overland or El Diablo in Emmet... and not nearly as good as the Al Pastor at Metztli on Chinden. Same goes for Chorizo-flavor was just not the best. However the atmosphere is good and the service was great. Other tacos are also pretty good. I am judging them hard because the Idaho Statesman recently voted El Gallo Giro as the best taco in the valley. I say the one on Glenwood is probably #2 behind just one other establishment, but as this restaurant bears the same name as the #1, they should taste pretty close. Good, but not the #1 taco in my opinion.
