The biggest joke was the Pizza Frutti Di Mare, which tasted like a fart. Overall tasteless experience despite the side tastes of an egg-fold. Never eat Italian in Mexico a good idea. My mistake.
I expect this to be a chain operation. I went to Gran Plaza. It was the only time in Merida I felt hurried in a restaurant. The duck was served before I finished my salad, which was almost served with my cocktail. My glass... was empty for a longer time before my second cocktail (2 for 1 deal), although I made the request. At two other tables there were patrons, no entry was no excuse. The pasta and shrimp shell was just fine when I ignored the small shrimp size. There was no thank you for a 20% piece!
Eating is good. I had the pizza, my wife had the soup and our friends had pasta. The service is a good and beautiful atmosphere.
I arrived early to the mall opens its doors at 10:00 am so I decided to take a coffee in this restaurant that is open from 7:30. good price and excellent menu and service. This restaurant is located inside the mall.
This was my second visit. I thought, after the first bad experience, it would improve. I was wrong. It only got worse. A disaster. Upon arrival, we were finally seated at a crowded table in the bar. The waiter then brought the menus and remained...,glancing around nervously. We finally told him we needed time and to please come back. That was our error it was difficult to find him again. We eventually found him and placed our order. It all seemed to confuse him and we had to repeat several times. Then the wait began. We waited and waited, noting many others were doing the same. Finally, after one hour, the entrees arrived. Only two of us but he could not remember who had each entree and reached across me to serve my friends food. Of course, he forgot the garlic bread we told him forget it. Of course, no apology. The food was average, at best. At Italian restaurants, I am accustomed to generous portions but not here! My friend is a small female but even she commented she was still hungry. We passed on dessert because we didn´t want to wait another hour. Then began the search for the waiter to get the check. We had a discount coupon from the previous visit which he wanted to argue about but gave in and took it. After 25 minutes the check arrived and the wait began for our change. Finally, he returned a copy of my check in a folder missing my 200 peso change. I finally got the attention of the manager and asked about my change. No apology but he rushed off to return 15 minutes later with my change. Nothing went well. A total disaster. And absolutely no apology or concern by management. If you want good Italian food in Merida, avoid this restaurant.
