Harbanos Tacos Arabes - Mérida

What a lovely little discovery, this restaurant. The Shawarma was absolutely delicious (the Shawarmita is a smaller version of the Shawarma). The Shawarma is served with the standard meat in the pita with a bed of lettuce and tomatos and a selection of various sauces, including a very tasty and creamy garlic Tarator sauce and hot sauce. I arrived at the restaurant ½ hour early, prior to opening, and despite the fact that I was early, they were extremely accommodating and opened early for me. What amazing service! This restaurant is also licensed for alcoholic beverages. There is both indoor and outdoor dining available. Very reasonable prices. This little gem of a restaurant is tucked away and may be a little difficult to find, however. copy/paste the GPS coordinates into Google Maps and you will be able to find the place. N 21 00.239, W 89 36.866. It is located on Calle 19, beside the Office Depot on Prolongacio Paseo Montejo (aka Calle 30). Conveniently located just 1 block north of Waldos Dollar Store. Cheap, cheerful and filling! Excellent tacos, jovial atmosphere, no fuss. Love it. Will be coming back.

This restaurant is a little hidden and not much to look at but I was pleasantly surprised with their tacos, ordered a couple rounds of their signature Harbanos tacos which were quite good and their raw tomato sauce gave it a very fresh and acid note that made all the difference. Service is OK, cleanliness is OK, prices are reasonable.

We lucked out with a waiter who spoke english. I tried to see what others ordered, something I always do, but ended up winging it. I had to order a second entree since the first wasn't all that big, but it was tasty. We did come here the night before and thought it was closed. The sign is at the top of a pole pointing to a corner store that is out of business. Only after we had eaten somewhere else and were driving away, we took the side road and there it was. So walk down the side road to find it! They don't open until like 7... so people like us used to getting dinner at 6 had to waste some time at the fabric shop and dollar store.

La carne esta muy buena, los tacos están grandes y bien servidos. La atención superó un poco mis espectativas espero sigan así. El lugar pos son mesas al aire libre lo que no me agrada mucho, pero igual no hay tanto tráfico cerca. Sólo he ido a cenar y lo recomiendo!
