The food was the best room temperature and so bland. Nothing like we've experienced anywhere in the city. The coffee wasn't hot or good either. I didn't finish anything except yogurt and we left and don't go back.
The food here is like in time. The food is okay... not great, but if you're looking for a traditional meal, it's good. We love the old photos on the wall, the old Cappuccino machine and NCR cash register. Old fashion waiter dressed in black white... It's just like Merida was 20 years ago when we first went there. But be careful... the only fresh juice is Naranja, everything else from a box. If you are looking for better food and fresh juice (which we are often), this is not the place. If you are looking for air conditioning and comfort food in a convenient location, this will fit the bill.
The location here makes it a great place to stop after meandering the Paseo De Montejo and still view the goings on as you enjoy your meal. The food is rather expensive, but not out of line with others right on the Paseo. The buffet was nothing exceptional but nor was there anything to complain about. The place was packed when we were there, but service was still above average.
Maybe it was because they were only two waiters, but the service was slow and when the food did come out we were kind of tired of waiting. Another table walked out after waiting a while. The food was OK with the chicken with rajas tasting good, but the cream in the sauce had broken so it did not look as good as it should. The fish fingers for kids were mainly breading and not much fish. The vegetables on the side of our dishes were fresh and well cooked, but that alone could not carry the meal. Plus it was not worth the price they charged for main dishes around $160-$200 pesos each. We ended up here after walking around on the plaza for “Mexican night”, where they have bands playing, when we should have eaten with the locals at the outdoor food stands.
