Thai Orchid - Mentor

We've been coming here for years, and when we became a plant base a year ago, we were so thrilled that our favorite restaurant was able to meet our needs. Such a great staff and the food is phenomenal. Best Thai cuisine by far!

Thai Orchid is an unexpected little gem of a place nestled into a strip of stores on a main road through the area. At first glance, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of vegan offerings under Vegetarian Choices (6), but add the Curry Favorites (6), which can all be made with tofu, and you have a dozen options right off the bat. The kitchen is very accommodating, so at least another 6 menu options can be modified, and there are several nice appetizers that are vegan as well. (Everything is clearly marked) There is ample parking, and the service is friendly and efficient. On our visit, we had Golden Sticks appetizer, the Tofu Pine Nut (with brown rice), and the Tofu Choo-Chee Dinner. (Fish sauce can be left out of anything that is normally made with it Including two glasses of a nice Pino Grigio, the meal came to $40 before tax tip— not too shabby for great food and two drinks! I tried a bite of my friend's pumpkin dish and the sauce was the most delicious I have ever tasted! I will definitely be ordering it on my next visit.
