Bull Dog Saloon - Mentone

Don't go there after 8 PM on a Monday if you're looking for anything other than pizza. I arrived at 8:11 and was out of luck!

I stopped by while passing through and decided to grab a beer and a quick bite. The bartender, Rudy, was fantastic. There’s some interesting Purdue and IU history at the bar, which made for a fun conversation. My wife ordered the chicken wrap and said it was good. The beer was ice cold, which I appreciated. I opted for the bone-in wings with a side of portobello mushrooms. Unfortunately, the wings were overcooked and not very impressive. The portobello mushrooms tasted like they came straight from the freezer, and the bland breading completely overshadowed any flavor they might have had. Despite this, we would definitely return! It’s a great local spot; I’d just choose a classic bar burger next time.

I'm still unsure about the food since I haven't tried it yet, but the service was excellent, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place! Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Rudy’s is the Bees friggin Knees. Best lunch specials, and the boat Long Island locally.
