Excellent Italian restaurant in Mentoen, Franko was a gratious host who was very attentive and threw in 2 free lemoncello 's at the end. The Seafood past was to die for and the creme brûlée was exquisite- I wish I could of had one more meal here but what a way to spend my last night in Mentone- I would high recommended this restaurant.
Lovely little restaurant just off the main street in Menton. Food was excellent as was the service which was attentive but not overpowering. All four of us enjoyed our meal and would recommend this restaurant.
Reading the reviews we had already earmarked this restaurant before arriving in Menton, especially with me being vegetarian, Italian food is normally a safe bet. We went on a Sunday and the restaurant was already very busy, but we were given one of the last tables inside. The 2 waiters were constantly rushing around and it was a while before we were even given menus. Daily specials were also available. The amuse bouche of tiny bruschetta/pizza were really delicious. For a starter I had a mixed salad, which was very fresh and a good size. For the main course I had the gnocchetti truffle and DH had the bufalina pizza. The gnocchetti was more quantity than quality, and I 'm not sure how much actual truffle it contained.......Pizza was thin and crispy and again a good size. As there was so much sauce with mine I used some pizza crust to dip into it! We also ordered a pichet of house red wine, which arrived with ice in it maybe that was because it was so warm. Overall food was ok, but the service was quite disappointing and after we had finished our main courses, it felt like we were being rushed out not the usual Italian service we are used to. Surprised that this restaurant gets the reviews that it does, especially when there are other, in my opinion, better Italian restaurants in the area, Leone, for one. Perhaps it 's due to it 's convenient location in the town centre, in the main tourist run.
Went here occasionally with my family. Bo be brief:1. The service was very long, had to wait for all the dishes a lot2. Food wasn't worth it's price: - salmon was poorly cut, served with unfitting products; - the eggplants casserole with parmigana was full of eggplant's water (generally speaking the dish was floating in it); - the lamb chop was prepared uneven, the meat was smelly (seems like ia was already a mutton, not a lamb) - But the most surprising was the GREEN potato in the salad, it was obvously frozen. 3. When we told to the waiter that we were disappointed with the dishes quality he replied (!) "no one complained but you, THAT'S BECAUSE YOU ORDERED TOO MANY DISHES"One of the most bad experiences in my life
