Dan’s Big Slice Pizza - Mendota

The food is consistently delicious and packed with a variety of ingredients. We've been ordering from this restaurant for decades and highly recommend it.

We ordered a delivery pizza to a brewery where we were hanging out. When placing the order, we requested extra sauce along with some parmesan and crushed red pepper on the side. Unfortunately, the sauce on the pizza resembled a bland marinara and lacked any real flavor, leaving us disappointed. The pizza arrived quickly, but before we could check if everything was included, it was taken away. To my surprise, the parmesan and crushed red pepper were missing. We also asked the author to include a $5.00 tip for the driver, but he told us it wasn’t included. I had high expectations for a pizza from a state known for its pride in large pizzas, but this experience fell short.

I have friends in Downers Grove, and when they order pizza, they always choose this place. The thin crust pizza is excellent – crispy and not greasy at all. It does get busy on weekends, though!

Best Chicago-style cracker thin crust we've had since moving to the suburbs. Nearly a weekly staple at our house. Wish they had online ordering, but it's good enough that I'll actually talk to another human being and even try multiple times when I get a busy signal.
