The ambience is cozy and romantic, and the service from our server and manager Kim was friendly and attentive. The food is an update on classic German/European cooking, beautifully prepared and delicious, with a fireplace at the center of the room. Chef Nicole came out to greet us as well. And then something happened that could have ruined our evening but wound up cementing our relationship with CP: someone took my coat by mistake with my car keys in it on a bitter cold night! Everyone scrambled to try to locate the customer, and they even offered to give us a ride back to our hotel while we waited to have the mistake figured out! Luckily, he returned within 15 minutes and all was fine. Highly recommend to anyone in the area looking to escape the touristy mass-production of the Killington Access Road! We'll be back...
Just went here for Valentine's day on Monday!!! Food- Incredible... Atmosphere- Perfect... Service- Warm welcomes and amazing!!!! The pre-fixed fondue menu was delicious and we will ABSOLUTELY be back to try out the dinner menu ASAP!! Thanks for making our night so special!
While there were no “men” in our party, we happened upon the Countryman’s Pleasure on the way to a moonlight cornmaze at Hathaway Farm. The staff were cheery and pleasant, with hospitality above and beyond. They knew we had to get to the maze on time and were accommodating to our timeliness request. Wine list curated to the menu in a sophisticated, well-priced way. They split our food when we asked if we could share meals bc there were so many options we couldn’t decide. Also the piping hot dinner rolls had a surprising garnish of homemade marmalade. Yum yum. And COVID-safe!
Just off Route 4 but tucked away, this place is a hidden gem. We received a warm welcome both from the waitress as well as from the manager, Kim. The atmosphere is warm and cozy rustic with German type music that almost transports you to another time. We had French Onion soup made with provolone cheese and crispy bread which was very good. We also enjoyed the burger and beer special. Burger was grass fed on a pretzel roll served with German potato salad which is made with vinegar and oil vs. mayo. You could choose any beer with it. It was a Friday night during Covid and the place had ample social distancing as they have multiple rooms and only took reservations. A great hideaway to have a relaxing dinner.
Fabulous dinner off the Oktoberfest menu tonight! Potato cabbage soup, schnitzel sandwich, and ham shank! Highly recommend! Their food is always delightful.
