Grey Whale - MENDOCINO

This is a fantastic place to stay. The rooms have a charming rustic feel while still being pleasant. The beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is included, just like it was before the Covid pandemic. There's a 20% service charge, but the menu is extensive, allowing you to order anything you'd like, which is quite generous. Overall, I'd rate the rooms a 4, the service a 4, and the location a 5.

I didn't stay at the hotel, but I did have a meal there. The breakfast was excellent—slightly pricey, but delicious. The service was also very good. Overall, I only dined there, but I enjoyed my experience.

We celebrated our 28th anniversary dinner there last week and had a wonderful experience. Both the food and service were excellent. We will definitely return. Service: 5 stars, Location: 5 stars.

During our trip to Mendocino for a friend's wedding, we enjoyed a private dinner at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lovely. The location is fantastic. I highly recommend it!

For drinks, I had an elderflower cocktail that was refreshing, my husband's Manhattan was well-made, and my daughter enjoyed the Zida special mocktail, a lovely non-alcoholic option on the menu. For dessert, we shared a delightful banana split and chose three different flavors of their house-made ice cream—mocha fudge, mint chip, and vanilla, all of which were delicious. The hostess was very warm and welcoming, and our waitress was knowledgeable, attentive, and patient, making sure to include our 5-year-old daughter in the experience. We felt genuinely well cared for throughout our visit. We particularly enjoyed our seats by the window in the bright, airy cafe section of the restaurant. Overall, we had a fantastic meal and look forward to returning!
