Wookey Hub Cafe - Mendip

After visiting Wookey for the second time we were pleased to see this lovely cafe had opened since our last visit. We visited most days during our stay and experienced lovely friendly staff. The food and coffees are great, comfortable outdoor and indoor seating areas....Free WiFi which is good, especially if staying in a holiday home which doesn’t have it ! Highly recommended cafe.

I visited today with my son on the recommendation of some people we were staying with. I nearly drove past as it’s on a really quiet street, but my goodness I’m glad we didn’t. Cannot recommend this place enough. The staff were wonderful, it was...exceptionally clean, and the food was amazing. My son has autism and really struggles with decisions so the owner patiently waited whilst he chose a table. I’ll be honest, I thought a small village cafe, as a vegetarian I’ll be grateful if there is a cheese sandwich, but there was so much choice! Even several vegan options which was surprisingly welcome. I had the Brie and cranberry toastie and if I wasn’t so stuffed I would have ordered another! They had an extensive drinks menu, the coffee was great and they had every kind of milk you could possibly want! I just wish we had found it sooner! My son had the picky platter, which was perfect for him and there was plenty to fill him up. There is also a little Shop which was fabulous and I particularly liked the local and eco friendly vibe. Honestly, if you’re able to visit, do not miss this place!

Who knew that a steak pie purchased ready made actually had steak therein?! The one I purchased at the little shop in Wookey Hub certainly did. Ram packed with chunks of tender beef with no room for anything else!!!! S-O-O different from the normal slop...with the odd lump that one gets with ANY pie I've bought from a supermarket or anywhere else.

We visited this little gem while on holiday in Wookey. The comments left by previous visitors to our cottage had recommended Wookey Hub. It is a lovely little shop with pretty much everything you would need. One of the ladies was very knowledgeable on gin...and I bought a bottle of Chewton Valley gin. I had a very nice coffee sitting outside under the marquee. If we are ever back in Wookey we will be coming in again!

Attended with my girlfriend for lunch after visiting the nearby Wookey Hole attraction. This place is an absolute treasure find. Great food prepared fresh on site not to mention the home made cakes baked by owner Andy's mum. Andy and his team were very helpful...in advising on places to visit. Mention also of village local old Ron who explained how Andy and Co had been a crucial lifeline in supporting the villagers during the pandemic lockdowns by ordering and delivering goods for those otherwise isolated.
