Playita Mexicana - Memphis

Playita Mexicana is amazing! The atmosphere feels warm and inviting, almost like family, and the food is absolutely fantastic! I visited on a Friday during my lunch break and chose something from the lunch menu. I ordered the Special Burrito, which comes with a choice of chicken or beef (I opted for both), along with lettuce and tomato on the side, and a portion of rice and beans. All of this for just $5.99! Everything was delicious. This place truly deserves its high ratings and praise! I will definitely be back!

On the positive side, I have to commend them on the food itself; it was delicious and fresh. However, their dishonesty regarding pricing and their lack of attentiveness really ruined the experience for us. Despite the good taste, we felt the meals were overpriced. Sure, inflation may be a factor, but we felt misled because the prices we were presented with did not accurately reflect what we were charged. Shaking my head at this experience.

The staff is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. Did I mention how amazing the staff is? The food is great as well. This is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in Memphis.

Exercise caution when it comes to paying your bill, as the prices seem to change at checkout. It turns out that a chicken breast with potatoes costs nearly the same as a shrimp broth. To top it all off, they charge a double tip: a 40% tip plus an additional 5% for paying by card. Really impressive.

I visited this restaurant on a whim, and it ended up being a mistake. The portion sizes were small, and the beans were served cold. I chose not to send my food back, as I was worried about tampering. Additionally, they overcharged my credit card and added an extra tip, so now I have to dispute the charges with my card issuer. I definitely won't be returning.
