Bari Ristorante E Enoteca - Memphis

I took some friends from out of town to this restaurant during their visit for a conference. It was my first time there, which usually isn't the best idea, but I’m so glad I did! I've discovered a new favorite spot in Memphis. We all enjoyed the mussels and cheeses, but I was particularly impressed by the fava beans, and the scallops were incredible! Everyone left satisfied. I will definitely return!

The restaurant offers a fantastic selection of smaller dishes that are absolutely delicious. The classic romaine salad, paired with any of their pasta or other offerings, makes for a perfect meal. Additionally, the ambiance is calm and soothing, making for a wonderful dining experience. I might just book a flight back to Memphis for another visit!

The atmosphere is pleasant, blending modern and traditional elements. The menu offers reasonably priced options, and I ordered the soup of the day along with a carbonara. The flavors of the dishes have a French influence and were skillfully prepared. However, if you're looking for more American-style food, you might not find it to your taste. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely return if I'm in the area.

The restaurant has a policy of charging $25 per person for no-show reservations. The menu is complicated and hard to navigate, almost requiring a master's degree in Italian just to place an order. The cheese and meat appetizer is priced a la carte, costing $7-8 for each selection. The bread serving was minimal and the type of bread was unclear. The menu is poorly organized and presented on sheets of paper. To make matters worse, there was no Chianti available, and tiramisu was off the menu in an Italian restaurant. While the food was good, the selections were limited and prices were inflated.

The food was outstanding, particularly the carbonara, which I highly recommend. By 6:00 PM, the bar became quite busy, and it tends to get very loud, making it difficult to talk to the bartender. Some soundproofing would really help improve the situation. Overall, it has a nice atmosphere and offers excellent cuisine. Just so you know, there are no TVs in the bar.
